Date 7 July 20206 We hold activities for prospective new students, namely the introduction period to the school environment,
School Environment Introduction Time (MPLS), which was previously known as Student Orientation Period (MOS), is the first activity carried out at school for new students to become familiar with the program, school facilities and infrastructure, how to learn, cultivating the concept of self-identification, as well as the initial construction of school culture.
Here are some important things about MPLS in accordance with the regulations that apply in Indonesia:
Main Objectives of MPLS
- Adaptation: Helping new students adapt to the school environment and surroundings.
- Potential Development: Growing motivation, spirit, and how to study effectively as a new student.
- Character: Develop positive interactions between students and other school residents.
- Code of Conduct: Provide an understanding of the rules, norma, and the culture that occurs at school.
Important Terms of MPLS
Based on the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Minister of Education and Culture Regulation), The following are mandatory conditions that must be fulfilled:
- Implemented by the teacher: MPLS is fully the responsibility of the school and implemented by teachers. Student (seniors/OSIS) can only help as a companion with close supervision.
- Educational in nature: Activities must be educational, creative, and fun.
- Violence is prohibited: Hazing is strictly prohibited, abuse, physical violence, as well as psychological.
- Reasonable Attributes: New students are not allowed to use attributes that are not relevant to learning activities (for example a sack bag, strangely shaped nameplate, or accessories that embarrass students).
- Execution time: Only done on school days and during school hours.
